Spare parts and replacements

Most parts are available via live chat even though they aren't listed for browsing; the Spare Parts Kit is $99.99 and a spare Traverse prop is $29.99.

Yes — most parts are available even though they aren't listed for browsing on the site. Message our customer support team on the live chat at caminojourney.com, tell us your kayak model and which part you need, and we'll send an invoice. The part ships as soon as it's paid. Carry handles, skid plates, J-hooks, and assorted hardware all go this way. Drain plugs are the exception — those go through the claims form.

Buying the kit instead of one part at a time

If you'd rather have a spread of spares on hand than order one item at a time, ask for the Cajo Kayaks Spare Parts Kit ($99.99) on the same chat.

The kit contains replacement service components for our rigid hulls (Outpost 100, Outpost 128, Terra 116) — the small parts most likely to get lost, dropped overboard, or worn out:

  • Carry handles — the molded grip handles at the bow, stern, and sides
  • D-rings — deck and tie-down attachment points
  • Hardware — machine screws, washers, and nuts for the various mount points around the boat
  • Gaskets and o-rings — for thru-hull wiring kits and other access points where waterproof seals matter
  • Small steering and rudder hardware — bolts, retaining pins, and the small stuff that's a hassle to source individually at a hardware store
  • Service-level replacement components that fall outside warranty wear — things you'd lose or wear out, not things that broke from a defect

What the kit does NOT include

  • Traverse Pedal Drive prop — sold separately, $29.99 plus shipping, invoiced through support (see below).
  • Traverse prop pin — also through support.
  • Steering cables (the full cable assembly) — through support or warranty, depending on cause.
  • Rudder blade — through warranty or support, depending on cause.
  • Drain plug — file at caminojourney.com/pages/claims-form, not through live chat.

Kit vs. individual parts

SituationBuy the kitOrder individually
Prepping for a season and want hardware backupsYes
Going on a long trip and want a "general spares" boxYes
You lost one specific bolt or gasketYes
You need a Traverse Drive propYes
You need a drain plugClaims form

The kit is a convenience — pay once, get a service-level spread of small parts that covers most of what you'd otherwise scrounge up locally. To order it, message support on live chat the same way as an individual part: we'll send an invoice and it ships once paid. If you only need one or two individual parts rather than the whole kit, our team can invoice you for just those instead.

Spare Traverse Pedal Drive prop — $29.99

A spare Traverse prop is $29.99 plus shipping. It's a paid part, not a warranty item, and it's handled through support rather than checkout:

  1. Message support on the live chat at caminojourney.com and ask for a spare Traverse prop.
  2. We'll send you an invoice.
  3. Pay the invoice, and the prop ships.

It's worth keeping a spare on hand because the prop is the highest-wear part on the drive. If you hit a stump or rock mid-trip, a bent or chipped blade loses thrust and starts vibrating the drive — finishable for the day, but the drive isn't happy, and a spare in the tackle box means you swap it on the water and keep fishing. On a multi-day trip, especially far from a dealer, a spare in the truck means a damaged prop doesn't end the trip. The swap itself is quick — pop the prop pin, slide off the damaged prop, slide on the spare, replace the pin — a couple of minutes with the drive out of the water.

If the prop arrived damaged or defective, that's warranty, not a purchase

If your prop arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, that's a warranty case, not a paid spare-part purchase. Submit a claim at caminojourney.com/pages/claims-form with a photo and we'll send a free replacement. The $29.99 invoice flow above is for paid backup props you're keeping in reserve, not for warranty replacements.
